Při odpovědi na otázky How much? a How many? se určité kvantifikátory pojí s počitatelnými podst. jmény (friends, cups, people), jiné se jmény nepočitatelnými (sugar, tea, money) a některé se všemi typy podst. jmen.

Používání "Much" a "Many"
Much a many se vyskytují hlavně v záporných větách a otázkách. V kladných a záporných větách je najdeme rovněž ve spojení s too a so.
Poznámka: slovo many je možné použít v kladné větě i samostatně, zatímco much nikoli. Much je v kladných větách nahrazeno výrazy a lot of či
lots of (ty mohou nahradit také many).
