Způsob tvoření
U kondicionálu 3. typu je možné použít také průběhový tvar.

Použití
Průběhový tvar se u kondicionálu 3. typu vztahuje k neuskutečněnému výsledku děje vedl. věty s "if" a vyjadřuje tento výsledek jako neukončený či probíhající děj.
Příklady
- If the weather had been better (ale nebylo), I'd have been sitting in the garden when he arrived (ale neseděl jsem).
- If she hadn't got a job in London (ono ale tu práci dostala), she would have been working in Paris (a v Paříži tudíž nepracuje).
- If I had had a ball I would have been playing football.
- If I had known it was dangerous I wouldn't have been climbing that cliff.
Minulý průběhový kondicionál
U všech sloves se skládá ze čtyř částí:
would + have + been + přítomné příčestí
Přítomné příčestí obsahuje kořen slovesa a příponu -ing.
